Friday. What a week it's been! A week ago I came back from North Carolina. It was my first time long driving out of state. It wasn't too bad. I wish I had someone to keep me awake. It was a quiet drive with my grandma. The highways I took were mostly empty.
The next day, Saturday, I went to our church picnic. The weather was great, and I was happy to see my church family again. Brother Aaron taught on 1 Corinthians 13:1-7. This is my favorite passage. Aaron's lesson, of course, was in the context of church.
After the picnic I was going to take Lizelle out on a date since she's been really stressed with school and stuff. Plus, I was out of town on her birthday, so I wanted to treat her out. Other people ended up coming along, because we all wanted to try the new Mongolian grill that just opened.
Afterwards we all ended up at Matt's house playing all sorts of card games. At some point in the night, Jay asked me to play the song that I wrote. It wasn't quite finished yet. My chord progression wasn't fully established, so he helped me with that. Other people started pitching in too, like Victoria, Aaron, and Milton, in their own way. I was so touched by my friends' support. Composing isn't my strong suit, so they really encouraged me with their efforts. Feels kinda weird to say it's "my" song, since other people had a hand in it, even my dad. It's not the best song, but I'm happy with the outcome. It comes from personal experience, and it expresses my heart. The song serves as a reminder to myself of God's goodness amidst life's struggles.
I had a swell weekend to say the least.
Throughout this week I've suffered miserably from three canker sores in my mouth. It's been so dreadful that I've been getting headaches from them. My cheeks seemed to have swelled up as well. Today is the first day it started feeling better.
On top of a very uncomfortable week, there's been some drama bombs happening at work. T_T I. can't. even.
On a lighter note, last Wednesday I got to hang out with a friend from Florida. We went to the National Harbor. A cool experience I thought was playing the piano in public, at the Gaylord Hotel all the more! I was pretty nervous, because I wasn't too sure if it was allowed. But there were no signs saying 'Do Not Touch', so I went for it. Didn't hear any complaints while I was playing which is a good sign I guess.

For my devos lately I've been reading up on Revelations again. Today, I stumbled upon this video by Mark Driscoll.
