#4 We become what we behold

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:17-18

When we behold the glory of God, we are transformed more into the likeness of Christ. Reading the Bible is our means to behold God. We don't treat the Bible like any other book. In humility we must ask God to reveal himself. In faith we go to Scripture looking for God. We were created to behold God's glory. Our glorious God chose to interact and communicate with sinful people when He didn't have to. Let us not stop being amazed at that fact. The more time we spend in the Word, the more we behold who God is for us in Christ. Just as Moses' face shone after he had spoken with God in Exodus 34:29-32, the glory of God can also be more apparent in our lives as we commune daily with Him.
