skywalker

I had a pretty decent weekend. Apart from my normal activities, I also went to a friend's birthday party. He invites me every year, but I usually never go because of college service. This year I decided to go since it started at 9pm. College service is usually done by then. At first I was hesitant in going, because people were told to bring alcohol to share. In my mind I had a bad stereotype of parties with alcoholic beverages. I had the stereotype of people doing crazy stupid things and pressuring others who weren't drinking to take a shot. I still decided to go for the sake of my friend. I haven't seen him in years. I figured going early would help avoid crazy drunk people. To my surprise when I got there, everyone was pretty chill. People were either conversing, watching a hockey game, eating, or jamming. I was able to catch up with the birthday celebrant for an hour. His friends were pretty nice too, and most of them introduced themselves. There was absolutely no pressure to drink. My friend politely asked if I wanted any. I told him I didn't drink, and he said I was wise for that. I want to laugh at myself for stereotyping that party. Overall, it rather was enjoyable.
