The weather lately has been absolutely lovely. Though I have my arms wide open for the coming of spring, I can't help missing winter. This winter didn't feel much like winter, but more like spring in disguise. An impostor! I'm thankful I got to snowboard at least twice this season. Still, I kinda wished we had more snow, and not the pathetic excuse for flakes that we had.
I finished reading the first book of the Hunger Games series, and am now reading the second book. I finished the first in three days. It was an easy read since the book is pretty fast paced. The book was very graphic when it came to the violence, but I didn't mind too much. I did, however, start to roll my eyes when the "romance" parts came. It reminded me of Eclipse (book 3 of Twilight), because of the back forth with the main girl's feelings. Ugh, that's why I didn't like Eclipse. Anyways, I'm also in the middle of reading Jane Austen's "Persuasion" and John Piper's "Don't Waste Your Life". I'm surprised at myself for actually enjoying reading. I don't know whats gotten into me, but I've transformed into some kind of bookworm. Jane Austen's work has recently captured my fancy. That lady is twisted. Her work is Kdrama worthy. I've started to collect movies based on her books. The latest movie I bought was Emma. It was a really cute movie.
As for John Piper's "Don't Waste Your Life" I highly recommend it to anyone. It's a very good, convicting book. It's been challenging and blessing me.
"Life is wasted if we do not grasp the glory of the cross, cherish it for the treasure that it is, and cleave to it as the highest price of every pleasure and the deepest comfort in every pain." - Piper
Oh and I heard a pretty good version of Someone Like You. These guys are good
