Empyrean

How I long for the azure sky
Behind these heavy, gray clouds
The dreary overcast hover over me
Like a shadow of burden
Like an umbrella of gloom
An outpour of melancholy floods the scene
I wish the sunlight would pierce through
And free me of the qualm lurking
Inside the chasm of my heart
This heart that aches for the inviting heavens
For the captivating cerulean view
Attended by billows of cirrocumulus
And the previously familiar sun
